First photos with my Lensbaby Sweet 35

Lensbaby recently had a great sale on their tilt shift lenses, so I picked up a Sweet 35 Optic. The lens does not communicate electronically with the camera body, so you have to adjust the settings and focus manually. Needless to say, there is a bit of a┬álearning curve and it’s quite challenging to get the focus just right, but I’m having a lot of fun experimenting with it!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Directional Light

CMP52W6heart

This week’s Clickin’ Moms photo challenge was directional light. In this photo, the light source/window is camera right which helps add a bit of dimension to this furry heart from the dollar store that my daughter named “Hearty”.

I hope you have a happy Valentine’s Day! Do you have any special plans? I’m looking forward to attending my girls’ classroom celebration on friday. We usually don’t do much for Valentine’s Day, but this year my husband decided to switch things up… he’s taking the girls and I out to dinner this weekend at one of our favorite restaurants to celebrate heart day family style. čśÇ

Geometric Heart Note Card

DSC_0484
Last month Jeran at Oleander+Palm created a beautiful giant geometric wall heart that inspired me to create this simple heart note card.

heart supplies
All you need is washi tape (one roll or many depending on the look you desire) and a notecard! Cut the washi tape into triangles… you’ll need twenty of them.

Assembling the note card only takes a few minutes! The great thing about washi tape is that it’s easy to peel off and reposition if necessary.
