~ We finished off 2014 with a family vacation to Arizona for some much needed R&R and sunshine. We stayed here… great resort, especially if you have kids! They had kid’s craft activities in the afternoons, heated pools, and a water slide.
~ Beautiful glass sculptures by Chihuly at the Desert Botanical Gardens.
~ We visited a train museum that had the most amazing/extensive model train set I’ve ever seen! The amusement park area was my favorite.
~ We also went to a butterfly atrium… one of my daughters was a bit frightened by all the butterflies flying around, but she still managed to have a good time overall. 🙂
Hope you are enjoying the start of the new year! My husband and I gave our refrigerator a full clean out and we completely reorganized our mudroom, including updating/reconfiguring our Elfa wall unit. We’ve had our Elfa wall unit for years and it’s so nice to be able to update it as our needs change. I definitely recommend checking it out if you are looking for organizing ideas (and it’s all on sale right now)! This book is also an interesting read about tidying… some of her methods are a bit extreme, but definitely inspiring/thought provoking.
Have a great week!
For a while I was on the fence about distressed denim, but it’s grown on me over time… as long as it’s not TOO distressed. These denim shorts from Old Navy have been a staple for me this summer, and the necklace I’m wearing is my favorite find from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale… there are lots of great deals if you haven’t checked it out already!
Shorts: Old Navy
Sandals: Steve Madden
Summer is about half way over for my daughters and they are really enjoying it so far. We recently went on a family vacation to Brasada Ranch in central Oregon… this was the cabin we stayed in during our visit. We did some biking and played a little tennis and volleyball but ended up spending most of our time at the pool. 🙂
One afternoon I went on a trail run/hike to a place called Spirit Rock… the desert view was really pretty!

Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post! 🙂 The past couple of weeks have been of the work hard/play hard variety. I’m grateful for the opportunity to do both, and also happy to be settling back into my more usual routine with summer on the horizon. Here are some of the things I’ve been treasuring lately!
